Trafficking in Controlled Substance Arrests in Graves County

Date of News Release: 04/29/2007

(Mayfield, KY.) - In a joint investigation including the Kentucky State Police, McCracken County Sheriff's Department and the Pennyrile Drug Task Force arrested Anthony W. Finch and James D. Watkins after Mr. Finch and Mr. Watkins sold undercover officers crack cocaine. When officers identified themselves, Mr. Watkins fled into a nearby house where he was arrested without further incident. Mr. Finch had additional crack cocaine in his possession which was found on him after his arrest. Crack cocaine was found on Alonso Sherrill after officers detained him. Mr. Sherrill was on the front porch of the house Mr. Watkins fled in to.

James D. Watkins was charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st Deg, 1st Offense. Anthony W. Finch was charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st Deg, 1st Offense, Possession Controlled Substance 1st Deg, 1st Offense and Drug Paraphernalia - Possession. Alonso Sherrill was charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st Deg, 2nd Offense. All three were lodged in the Graves County Jail.

A total of 9 grams of crack cocaine was seized during this investigation with a street value of $300.00.
