Drug Arrest on I-24 in Lyon County

Date of News Release: 02/27/2007

(Lyon County) - Kentucky State Police Post 1 received a drug tip from the Fulton County Sheriffs Department of a 1993 Toyota passenger car transporting a large amount of drugs from Fulton County to an unknown location. Tpr Trent Weaver observed the vehicle eastbound on I-24 and made a traffic stop with the vehicle after witnessing a traffic violation. Tpr Weaver located a garbage bag in the front passengers´ floorboard containing 25.08 lbs of processed marijuana.

The driver, Johnnie Morgan DOB/19780728, was charged with Failure of Non Owner to Maintain Insurance, No Tinted Label on Vehicle, and Trafficking Marijuana Over 5lbs. Also charged with Trafficking Marijuana over 5lbs was Carrie Morgan, DOB/19780923. Investigation continues with Tpr Trent Weaver.
