Fatal Crash on KY 453 in Livingston County
Date of News Release: 02/19/2007
(Livingston County) - Christopher J. Copeland was traveling South on KY. 453 when he topped a hillcrest and curve in the opposing lane. Lindsey R. Manker, who was traveling North on KY. 453, saw the vehicle in her lane and attempted to steer to avoid impact. Just prior to impact, Copeland attempted to steer right which caused his vehicle to rotate clockwise. The near T-bone impact occurred in the northbound lane near the centerline. Copeland, who was not wearing his seatbelt, received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Livingston County Coroner Jeff Armstrong. Manker was wearing her seatbelt and was not injured. The Livingston County Sheriff's Department, Grand Lakes Fire and Rescue and Livingston County Coroner assisted state police at the scene. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Chris Smith.
