Death Investigation in Cadiz, KY

Date of News Release: 02/13/2007

(CADIZ, KY.) Kentucky State Police Investigators are conducting a death investigation on a Trigg County man as the result of a house fire. On 2-12-07 at 9:10 PM, the East Golden Pond Fire Department responded to a house fire south of Cadiz on KY. 1175. When firefighters entered the home they found Edward Dale Downs, 41, unresponsive. John Vinson, the Trigg County Coroner, pronounced Downs dead at the scene. An autopsy was conducted this afternoon at the Medical Examiners Lab in Madisonville. The cause of death has not been determined pending toxicology and other test results. The fire investigation is continuing by KSP Detectives John Sims, Frank Gresham and the State Fire Marshall´s Office. The Trigg County Sheriff´s Department assisted state police at the scene.
