Injury Crash on KY 295 in Lyon County

Date of News Release: 02/01/2007

(Lyon County, KY) - Wilbur Dekema was traveling North on KY. 295 North, when he rounded a curve and ran off the right side of the road. He lost control of his vehicle and overcorrected back left. The vehicle ran off the left side of the road striking a tree and an embankment. Mr. Dekema was trapped in his vehicle and was freed by the Lyon County Rescue Squad using non-mechanical means. When first responders reached Mr. Dekema, he was complaining of chest pains, which could have been a contributing factor to the crash. He was transported by ambulance to the Caldwell County Hospital for treatment. The Lyon County Sheriff's Department, Lyon County EMS and Rescue Squad, and Detective Robert Harris with the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force assisted state police at the scene. The investigation is continuing by TFC. Chris Anderson.
