November Monthly Activity From Post 15
Date of News Release: 12/04/07
(Columbia, KY) - During the month of November 2007, there were 39 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.
There were six fatalities:
REBECCA R. MELTON, Glasgow, Kentucky, was killed in Metcalfe County on 11/01/07,
JOHN JOHNSON, JR., Russell Springs, Kentucky was killed in Russell County on 11/06/07,
MARTIN V. NEWTON, Liberty, Kentucky was killed in Washington County on 11/12/07,
BILL G. BARNETT, Springfield, Kentucky was killed in Washington County on 11/21/07,
DONALD B. MOORE, Burkesville, Kentucky was killed in Cumberland County on 11/27/07,
RICKY L. KNIGHT, Jamestown, Kentucky was killed in Russell County on 11/30/07.
This brings our yearly fatality count to 43 compared with 54 through this same period in 2006.
State wide fatality count stands at 786 compared with 847 through this same period in 2006.
During the month of November 2007, there were 1,047 citations written, 270 courtesy notices written, 1,499 vehicles inspected, 941 complaints answered, 81 motorists assisted, 72 criminal cases opened and 228 criminal arrests made.
