Fatal Collision on KY 555 in Washington County

Date of News Release: 11/21/07

(Columbia, KY) - Bill G. Barnett age 74 of Springfield, KY was stopped at a stop sign on US 150 to make a left turn onto KY 555. Jerry B. Yaste age 19 of Willisburg, KY was northbound on KY 555. Mr. Barnett pulled his 1995 Pontiac into the path of Mr. Yaste's 2001 Dodge Pick-up.

Mr. Bill Barnett was pronounced dead at the scene. Mr. Barnett's passenger (Martha J. Barnett age 78) was transferred from the Springview Medical Center to the University of Louisville Hospital. Neither Bill nor Martha Barnett was wearing a seatbelt. Mr. Jerry B. Yaste was not injured in the collision and seatbelt was in use.
