News Release

Injury Collision on Miller Pike in Marion County

Date of News Release: 11/01/07

(Columbia, KY) - Melissa Smith, age 39 of Lebanon was operating a 2006 Chrysler Town & Country Van on Miller Pike when she was blinded by the sun and failed to see a stopped 1996 Ford Mustang being operated by 21 year old, Christopher Shively of Finley. Ms. Smith's vehicle struck Mr. Shively's vehicle in the rear causing him to strike a 1996 Mercury Tracer being operated by 51 year old, Denise Alford of Lebanon. Ms. Alford was stopped waiting to make a left turn onto O'Daniel Lane.

Christopher Shively and a passenger in his vehicle, 20 year old, William Stumph of Lebanon were both taken to Springview Hospital by private vehicle and later released.

Melissa Smith, Denise Alford, and a passenger in her vehicle, 53 year old James Alford of Lebanon were not injured. All parties were wearing their seat belt.
