April Monthly Activity From Post 15

(Columbia, KY) - During the month of April 2007, there were 46 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.

There were eight fatalities:
ROBERT J. BELL, Summersville, Kentucky was killed in Green County on 04/05/07,
EDITH GOODIN ADAMS, Petersburg, Florida was killed in Adair County on 04/19/07,
ROBERT A. SHELTON, JR., Crestwood, IL was killed in Adair County on 04/20/07,
VALERIE K. MORRIS, Columbia, Kentucky was killed in Metcalfe County on 04/21/07,
MELANIE A. WISE, Bardstown, Kentucky was killed in Washington County on 04/25/07,
MADELINE A. WISE, Bardstown, Kentucky was killed in Washington County on 04/25/07,
DAVID C. WISE, JR., Bardstown, Kentucky was killed in Washington County on 04/25/07,
and CHARLOTTE A. WISE, Bardstown, Kentucky was killed in Washington County on 04/25/07.

This brings our yearly fatality count to 11 compared with eight through this same period in 2006.

State wide fatality count stands at 252 compared with 243 through this same period in 2006.

During the month of April 2007, there were 1,385 citations written, 328 courtesy notices written, 1,921 vehicles inspected, 1,006 complaints answered, 55 motorists assisted, 70 criminal cases opened and 229 criminal arrests made.
