Drug Arrest in Russell County

(Columbia, KY) - On January 3, 2007 officers from Kentucky State Police Post 15 executed two search warrants in the city limits of Jamestown. Officers seized over 20 lbs. of processed marijuana and a firearm. Ricky D. Maynard, age 46 of Jamestown was arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana over 5 lbs. and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Maynard was lodged in the Russell County Jail.

More arrests are forthcoming on other individuals.

Investigation continues by Lt. Eric Wolford and Det. Scott Hammond.

KSP was assisted by the Russell County Sheriff's Department and Jamestown Police Department.
