Fire/Death Investigation in Boyd County

(Ashland, KY) - Kentucky State Police in Ashland is currently investigating a residential fire on Carla Drive in Summit, KY. Around 0700 hours this morning, Ashland 911 received a call from a neighbor reference to smoke coming from the residence on Carla Drive. Firefighters from several fire departments arrived on scene and extinguished the fire. Kentucky State Police Arson Investigator and Detectives arrived on scene shortly after for processing of the scene and to determine the cause of the fire. The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen area of the residence. Foul play is not suspected. Autopsies are scheduled for next day at the State Medical Examiner's office.

Alva Blake age 63 Ashland, KY
Donna Blake age 51 Ashland, KY
Billie Owen age 70 Ashland, KY

Alva and Donna were husband and wife. Billie was the mother of Donna.

The incident remains under investigation by Detective Aaron Martin and Detective Rodney Carroll (Arson Investigator).
