Death Investigation at the Carter County Detention Center

(Ashland, KY) - Kentucky State Police is conducting an investigation into the death of Harold E. Tackett ,age 44, of Grayson, KY after he was discovered unresponsive while being housed as an inmate at the Carter County Detention Center.

Mr. Tackett surrendered himself to the Carter County Detention Center on Friday August 31, 2007 on criminal charges. He was discovered unresponsive in his cell early Saturday morning. EMS was notified and Mr. Tackett was transported to Kings Daughters Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy and toxicology was performed on Tackett on 9-2-07 and the results are pending.

Detective Goble is continuing the investigation.
