Lexington Man Arrested on Rape 3rd Charge

Date of News Release: 02/21/2007

(Post 12 Frankfort) Kentucky State Police investigation began in December 2006 after Post 12 received a sexual abuse complaint involving a juvenile victim. The investigation was ongoing by Kentucky State Police.

On February 9, 2007 the juvenile victim went missing from a home in Louisville KY and she was entered into NCIC as missing by the Louisville Metro Police Department. Kentucky State Police obtained an arrest warrant for Rape 3rd against Mark Wayne Davis of Lexington. Mr. Davis and the missing juvenile whereabouts at that time were unknown.

On Tuesday, February 20th the Lexington Division of Police received a tip that Mark Wayne Davis and the missing juvenile were in the Fontaine Richmond Road area in Lexington, KY. Lexington Division of Police located the missing juvenile an arrested Mark Wayne Davis after a vehicle pursuit. Mr. Davis has been lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center on Rape 3rd and several other criminal charges filed by the Lexington Division of Police in Fayette County.

The juvenile was given to the Department for Community Based Services.

Mr. Davis was also charge with Custodial Inference by Kentucky State Police. Post 12 Frankfort was assisted by the Lexington Division of Police, Louisville Metro Police Department and Department for Community Based Services. Investigation ongoing by Post 12 Frankfort.
