Bank Robbery Investigation in Rockcastle County

(LONDON) On 10-17-2007 at 10:11 AM the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London, received a report of a bank robbery at the Citizens Bank in the Brodhead Community of Rockcastle County, KY.

The suspect entered the bank wearing camouflaged clothing, a ski mask and armed with a handgun. The suspect demanded money and left the scene in a white vehicle.

Upon arrival Detective Mark Allen began an investigation into the incident which developed a suspect identification. The suspect was later located and interviewed in the Berea area of Madison County. Detective Allen charged Joshua Shane Rickels, 27, of Mount Vernon, KY with Robbery 1ST Degree.

This robbery makes the second Bank Robbery in the KSP Post 11 district within the last week, with arrests being made quickly in both incidents.

KSP Detective Mark Allen is in charge of the investigation and was assisted by KSP Sergeant Darren Williams, KSP Detective Mike Bowling, KSP Troopers Tommy Cromer and Staci Walker, Berea Police Department and the Rockcastle County Sheriff's Office.
