Armed Robbery Investigation in Grant County

(Dry Ridge, KY) - On August 18,2006 at 2:38 A.M. the Grant County Sheriffs Office was dispatched to a robbery in progress at the Holiday Inn Express 1050 Fashion Ridge Road Dry Ridge, KY.

The night shift clerk called 911 to advise he was being robbed at gunpoint by an unknown male, 5'4" to 5'8", wearing black clothing, black ski mask, gloves and brandishing a stainless steel automatic handgun. The suspect forced the clerk into the restroom then barricaded the door. The suspect broke into the cash register and stole an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect fled the scene prior to law enforcement's arrival. It is unknown if the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle or on foot. A police K-9 was used to search the area and revealed nothing. The case is still under investigation by the Grant County Sheriffs Office.

Deputy Kevin Burke is leading the investigation and was assisted on scene by the Kentucky State Police and Williamstown Police Department.
