Fatal Crash and Arrest on Morgantown Road in Warren County

Date of News Release: 09/14/2006

(BOWLING GREEN, KY) - Ralph Adkins was traveling northbound on Morgantown Road when he veered off the right shoulder of the roadway & struck a utility pole. The vehicle went over an embankment, hit a tree & came to final rest. David McKinney was also northbound on Morgantown Road and struck the utility pole and power lines as they were collapsing. Jay Morgan was northbound on US 231 when he approached the scene and swerved to avoid the utility pole and power lines causing him to exit the left side of the roadway. David McKinney was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Warren County Coroners Office. Ralph Adkins was taken into custody and lodged in the Warren County Jail for DUI 1st and Reckless Homicide.
