Post 3 August 2006 Activity Report

(BOWLING GREEN, KY) - The Post Commander, Captain Bill Payton of the Kentucky State Police, Post 3 is reporting the following activity for the month of August 2006.

Troopers and Detectives issued a total of 1,958 citations of which 764 were for speeding and 10 for no child restraint. Troopers issued 158 warnings for no seatbelts. Fifty-four people were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Troopers issued 622 courtesy notices investigated 90 accidents, of which 6 were fatals, and assisted 271 motorist, while inspecting 2,703 vehicles.

Detectives and Troopers investigated 1,521 complaints, and opened 121 criminal cases, and made 277 criminal arrests.

Troopers also worked 904 special details and programs for August.
