Injury Crash on I-65 in Barren County, KY

Date of News Release: 07/02/2006

(BOWLING GREEN, Ky.) - Olufunmila Afuape was northbound on I-65 and failed to see that the left lane ended. Olufunmila Afuape's vehicle traveled into the median and overcorrected crossing the northbound lanes. Olufunmila Afuape's vehicle impacted the guardrail on the shoulder. Kin Yee was northbound and was unable to avoid Olufunmila Afuape's vehicle. Kin Yee's vehicle struck Olufunmila Afuape's vehicle and was knocked into the left lane. Margarito Hernandez's Semi impacted Kin Yee's vehicle as it entered the left lane. After the impact Kin Yee's vehicle traveled off the right shoulder and overturned as it impacted the guardrail. The rear passenger of Kin Yee's vehicle was ejected. Kin Yee's vehicle came to a final rest on its top on the grassy shoulder. Passengers in Kin Yee's vehicle (Hsiu and Richard Yee) were flown to University of Louisville Hospital.
