Fatal Crash on US 31E in Allen County, KY

Date of News Release: 05/30/2006

(BOWLING GREEN, Ky.) - Glenda Messersmith was southbound on US 31E when the vehicle drifted off the east side of the roadway and went down an embankment and overturned approximately 3 times. When the driver was ejected through the driver side door window, the vehicle rolled on top of the driver and came to a final rest in a tree line area.

The passenger (Steve Messersmith) was partially ejected but was extricated by mechanical means and then was flown by air to Vanderbilt Hospital and is listed in stable condition at this time. Deputy Coroner Danny Bridgeman pronounced the driver (Glenda Messersmith) dead at scene.
