Injury Crash on KY 743 in Edmonson County, KY
Date of News Release: 03/23/2006
(BOWLING GREEN, KY) - Joe Collins Jr. was southbound on KY 743 and failed to negotiate a sharp curve. Mr. Collins' vehicle traveled off the right shoulder and overturned in a field. The tanker portion of the vehicle, hauling 7,000 gallons of crude oil, began to leak due to the crash and an undetermined amount of oil spilled into the field and a creek nearby. Numerous agencies at the scene were able to contain the spill and a lengthy clean up began. The passenger (Brandon Coomer) in the vehicle was flown to Vanderbilt via LifeNet. Edmonson County EMS transported the Mr. Collins to The Medical Center.
