News Release

Update to Two Men Escapee from the Western Kentucky Correctional Complex

Robby Krystynak has been located in Princeton, KY. The Hays subject is still at-large.

(EDDYVILLE, KY) Kentucky State Police are investigating an escape from the Western Kentucky Correctional Complex near Fredonia. At approximately 10:50 am an off duty employee of the Complex spotted two subjects walking in a wooded area near the Correctional Complex. Once confirmation was made, WKCC notified State Police that Robby Krystynak and Randy Hays had walked away from the facility. Krystynak is described as a 25-year old white male, brown Hair, blue Eyes, 5'10", 150 lbs. He was being lodged for charges of Burglary 2nd, Receiving Stolen Property, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Robbery 2nd, and Theft by unlawful taking over $300. Hays is described as a 20-year old white male, brown hair and brown eyes, 6'00", 160lbs. He was originally charged with Receiving Stolen Property over $300, Criminal Mischief 1st, Fleeing and Evading Police, and Wanton Endangerment 1st. At this time there is no vehicle description available. The subjects were both last seen wearing prison issued khaki pants and a long sleeve white shirt. Information obtained by State Police indicates the subjects may possibly be en route to Leitchfield, KY or Cincinnati OH. If anyone has any information, they are asked to contact the Kentucky State Police at 1-800-222-5555 (in the state of Kentucky only, does not work out of state) or direct to the Mayfield Post at 270-856-3721. Investigation continues with Tpr Ray Burnam, Kentucky State Police.
