News Release

Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st-Cocaine Arrest in Graves County, KY

Date of News Release: 04/17/2006

(Graves County, KY) - On 4-17-2006 at 1:11PM, Kentucky State Police 911 Center received a 911 hang up call from a residence in Dukedom. After several attempts to call the residence back, dispatchers were advised of a domestic situation at the residence. As Trooper Donald Bowman arrived at the residence, the perpetrator was leaving in a 1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

Trooper Bowman lost sight of the vehicle during a vehicle pursuit, but local residence advised troopers where the vehicle turned and that he threw suspected drugs out of his vehicle. Trooper Bowman located the vehicle on Flood Orchard Road where the suspect had abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot.

After a short search, Trooper Bowman arrested the suspect without incident. Tario Curtis, 25 of Mayfield, was charged with 4th Degree Assault-Domestic Violence, Fleeing and Evading, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st-Cocaine, Trafficking in Marijuana under 8OZ, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Curtis was lodged in the Graves County Jail.

Trooper Brad Haley and the Graves County Sheriff's Department assisted state police at the scene. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Bowman.
