Pedestrian Killed on KY 139 in Trigg County, KY

Date of News Release: 03/02/2006

(Trigg County, KY) - Donna Hampton was a passenger in a southbound vehicle on KY 139. She exited the vehicle to get her dog from the center of the roadway which had been struck by the same vehicle she was in. A Federal Materials concrete truck driven by Tyler Beavers was traveling northbound. Beavers observed the victim in the middle of the roadway. Hampton attempted to run out of the path of the concrete truck at the same time the concrete truck swerved to avoid the victim, however, both the concrete truck and the pedestrian went into the southbound lane. The concrete truck then struck the pedestrian. She was pronounced dead on scene by the Trigg County Coroner. Beavers was not injured. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Bob Winters and accident reconstructionist Trooper Tim Sales.
