Date of News Release: 02/02/2006

(PADUCAH, KY.) On 2-1-06, Kentucky State Police Investigators charged a Paducah man with Burglary and Arson of his estranged wife's home. On 12-1-05, the Lone Oak Fire Department responded to a house fire on Lindcrest Drive, south of Lone Oak. Once the fire was under control, fire officials and the State Fire Marshall's Office noticed the fire appeared suspicious and requested the assistance of Kentucky State Police Arson Investigator Frank Gresham. Gresham's investigation led to Mark Lee Crossland, 45 of Paducah. Crossland's estranged wife was living in the home at the time of the fire but was not there when the fire was set.

On 1-27-06, a McCracken County Grand Jury returned indictments on Crossland for Arson 2nd Degree, Burglary 1st Degree, and Theft by Unlawful Taking over $300.00, Theft by Unlawful Taking-Firearm, Convicted Felon in Possession of a Handgun and Cruelty to Animals-2nd Degree. On 2-1-06, Detective Gresham served the indictment warrants on Crossland in the McCracken County jail where he was being held on related charges. Crossland is being held on $68,000 cash bond. The investigation is continuing by Detective Gresham.
