Update to Fatal Crash on KY 55 in Washington County

Date of News Release: 12/11/2006

(Columbia, KY) - Kentucky State Police is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on December 10, 2006, around 11:47 a.m. in Washington County. Unit 1, a 1998 Buick, was traveling north on KY 55 when he lost control, crossed over the centerline, and struck a tree. Unit 1 then caught on fire with the driver trapped inside the vehicle.

An autopsy will be conducted today in Frankfort to determine the identity of the victim.

UPDATE: After an autopsy and comparison with dental records the victim has been identified as 35 year old Timothy M. Russell of Springfield, Ky.
