Escapee from the Marion Adjustment Center Apprehended

(Columbia, KY) - The escapee from Marion County Adjustment Center, Gregory Dewayne Edmonds, was captured today after a lengthy pursuit through Taylor County into Larue County. Edmonds was arrested after the vehicle he was driving was forced off the road by Kentucky State Police.
Edmonds was allegedly involved in an armed robbery at a store in Lebanon where he robbed the attendant at knife point and sexually assaulted her. Edmonds then stole a Pontiac van from the scene. A short time later Campbellsville Police Department and Kentucky State Police got in pursuit of Edmonds after he failed to pullover for a traffic stop just outside of Campbellsville on US 68. The pursuit continued onto KY 210 and into Larue County where KSP Troopers used tire deflation devices to flatten the vehicle's tires at which time the vehicle was forced off the roadway by KSP Troopers. Edmonds was lodged in the Marion County Jail on numerous charges. Lebanon Police Department is investigating the robbery and sexual assault that occurred in Lebanon. Other agencies involved in incident are Campbellsville Police Department, Taylor County Sheriff's Department, and KSP from Elizabethtown Post, Larue County Sheriff's Department and Hodgenville Police Department.
