News Release

Military Device Located in Green County, KY

Date of News Release: 04/02/2006

(Columbia, KY) - At about 6:00 P.M. an old military explosive device was located on Legion Park Road in the limits of Greensburg. The explosive ordinance device unit from the Fort Knox Military Base responded to the scene at which time they removed the device. The device was taken to a remote area and detonated.

The Kentucky State Police were assisted by the Green County Fire Department and the DES Coordinator. The EPA was also notified. The investigation into the possession of the military device will be followed up by the Military Central Intelligence Division.
