Stolen Vehicle Investigation and Arrest in Shelby County

(Frankfort, KY ) - Tpr John Dixon was on routine patrol when Shelby County Dispatch issued an attempt to locate on a stolen vehicle. Tpr Dixon located the vehicle at a Chevron gas station on KY 53 in Shelby County. After interviewing the driver, it was determined the Mr. Jason Smith was the suspect in question. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with DUI 3rd, Driving on a Suspended License 1st, Theft by Unlawful Taking (auto), and Theft by Unlawful Taking (other). Tpr Dixon also served felony warrants that had been issued by Shelby County Sheriff's Office.
