Drug Arrest at Traffic Safety Check Point

(Frankfort, KY) - On July 1, 2006, Kentucky State Police Post 12 Frankfort arrested Joshua E. Carpenter of Lawrenceburg, KY. on drug related charges at a traffic safety checkpoint. Troopers were conducting a traffic safety checkpoint at US-421 North and Harvieland Road in Franklin County. The vehicle Joshua E. Carpenter was riding in was stopped. The driver was arrested for DUI and the passenger Joshua E. Carpenter attempted to flee. Troopers found drugs an arrested Joshua E. Carpenter. He was charged with, Possession of a controlled substances 1st (cocaine), Possession of a controlled substance 1st (pills), Possession of a controlled substances 2nd (pills), Prescription drugs not in proper container, resisting arrest, and Fleeing and evading Police 1st.
