Fatal Crash on I-64 in Franklin County, KY

Date of News Release: 03/16/2006

(Frankfort, KY) - Unit #1 (Name Pending) was westbound on I-64. Unit #1 traveled through the median and into the eastbound lanes of I-64. Unit #2 (Craig T. Smith) was traveling eastbound on I-64 and struck Unit #1 vehicle. Unit #1 overturned and caught fire. Unit #3 (James T. Bell) was traveling eastbound and stuck Mr. Smith's vehicle. I-64 was closed for 3 hours. Investigation continuing by the Kentucky State Police Post 12, Frankfort.
