Date of News Release: 11/09/2006
(LONDON, KY) - On Thursday, November 09, 2006, at 0430 AM the Kentucky State Police responded to multiple-vehicle traffic crashes with and without injury on I-75, around Mount Vernon, in Rockcastle County. Troopers from the Kentucky State Police and Officers from the Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement investigated a total of 7 traffic crashes, involving 20 vehicles, that occurred within a 2 mile stretch of I-75 both north and southbound. Four people were reported to have been treated for non-life threatening injuries at the local hospital. The crashes are a result of a very dense fog in the area this morning. Both northbound and southbound lanes have been reopened, but have heavy congestion.
