News Release

Fatal Crash East Williamsburg Street in McCreary County

Date of News Release: 08/07/2006

(LONDON, KY) - On Monday, August 7, 2006, the Kentucky State Police responded to a single vehicle injury accident on East Williamsburg Street, Whitley City, in McCreary County. Upon arrival, Trooper Shaler Jones discovered Unit one a 1999 Dodge Pick-up, driven by Robert L. Monroe, 53, of Williamsburg, KY failed to safely negotiate a curve and collided with an earth embankment head-on. Monroe received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by McCreary County Deputy Coroner Brandon New. No alcohol or drug usage was suspected and Monroe was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.
