Fatal Crash on I-75 in Laurel County, KY
Date of News Release: 01/18/2006
(London, KY) - On Wednesday January 18, 2006 at approximately 4:55 a.m. Kentucky State Police at London received a call of a two vehicle accident on Interstate 75 approximately eight (8) miles south of London.
According to the investigation a 1993 Volvo driven by Bahadurali Charina of Hamilton Ontario Canada, was traveling north when he lost control of the vehicle after crossing a patch of black ice on the roadway. Mr. Charina's vehicle struck a 2002 Mitsubishi Montero driven by Bobby Gray of Barbourville, KY.
A passenger in the Volvo Yasmin Sherali Charina (54) Hamilton Ontario Canada was pronounced dead at the scene by Laurel County Coroner Doug Bowling.
The investigation continues by Kentucky State Police accident Reconstructionist Don Trosper. All occupants were wearing seatbelts.
