Attempted Murder Investigation and Arrest in Harlan County
Date of News Release: 11/20/2006
(HARLAN, KY) - KSP received a 911 call about a domestic disturbance between a father & son in the Cloverlick area of Harlan County. The caller advised that the father, Charles Day, stabbed the son, James Day.
Upon arrival, KSP Units, Cumberland Police Department & Benham Police Department Officers found the victim lying in the front yard. The victim was discovered to have been shot & stabbed. He was transported by Johnson Life Care to Harlan ARH. Harlan Police Department Officers assisted by collecting evidence at Harlan ARH before the victim was transported to Holsten Valley by Harlan EMS.
Kenneth Day was arrested by Detective Michael Cornett and charged with Tampering With Evidence & Attempted Murder. He was lodged in the Harlan County Jail.
The incident is still under investigation by Detective Cornett, Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan.
