Arrest Made in the Citizen National Bank Robbery in Floyd County, KY

(Pikeville, KY) - On December 27, 2005 at approximately 5:15 pm Kentucky State Police Detectives Byron Hansford and Kevin Newsome arrested two brothers, Ellis Hunter 22 of Wheelwright and Jason Hunter 24 of Wheelwright on charges of Robbery 1st. At 12:15 AM on December 28, 2005 their father, Freddie Hunter 45 of Softshell, KY, was also arrested on charges of Robbery 1st. These arrests are the result of a continued investigation of three armed robberies in Floyd County. The Allen branch of Citizens National Bank was robbed in June and November of 2005. The Garrett branch was robbed in December 2005. The Kentucky State Police would like to thank the concerned citizens that reported the anonymous tip. This information furthered the investigation and assisted in the arrest of three suspects. The robberies remain under investigation by Kentucky State Police Detectives Byron Hansford and Kevin Newsome.
