Two KSP Officers Promoted, Assigned to Campbellsburg Post

Campbellsburg, Kentucky - Two Kentucky State Police officers recently were promoted and assigned to the Campbellsburg Post.

Mark Bess was promoted to sergeant and transfers from the Driver Testing Branch to the Campbellsburg Post. Bess, a 20-year KSP veteran, also has worked at the Hazard Post. He's a native of Coshocton, Ohio, and graduated from Tecumseh High School in New Carlisle, Ohio, in 1978. He graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 1983. He is married with two children and resides in Owenton.

Kenneth Bowman was promoted to sergeant and transfers from the Morehead Post. Bowman, who's been with the KSP six years, is a graduate of Morgan County High School and attended Morehead State University. He's a native of Ezel.

Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet Steve Pence complimented the promoted officers for their efforts. "These men...have dedicated themselves to advancing the mission of the Kentucky State Police," said Pence. "On behalf of the Commonwealth, I want to commend the promotional recipients...for their commitment to public service and safety."

KSP Commissioner Mark L. Miller cited the diligence that troopers must possess to be promoted. "These officers have dedicated countless hours of training, studying, testing, interviewing and otherwise maintaining the highest standards to take their place as leaders in the Kentucky State Police," said Miller.
