August 2005 Activity Report

(BOWLING GREEN, KY) - The Post Commander, Captain Bill Payton of the Kentucky State Police, Post 3 is reporting the following activity for the month of August 2005.

Troopers and Detectives issued a total of 1,419 citations of which 476 were for speeding, 83 for no seatbelts, and 7 for no child restraint. Thirty-eight people were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Troopers issued 379 courtesy notices investigated 117 accidents, of which 5 were fatalities, and assisted 253 motorists, while inspecting 2,032 vehicles.

Detectives and Troopers investigated 1,449 complaints, and opened 202 criminal cases, and made 310 criminal arrests, and investigated 10 non-criminal cases.

Troopers also worked 854 special details and programs for August.
