Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Arrest in Calloway County, KY

Date of News Release: 11/29/2005

(Mayfield, KY) - After receiving information from Murray State Public Safety and the Commonwealth Attorney's Office, Detective Boyd initiated an investigation into the sex offender records of Mr. Ernie Jordan.

Detective Boyd's investigation concluded that Mr. Jordan had failed to register his most recent address change in a timely manner and his new address was adjacent to Murray Day Care. State law cites that if a registered sex offender moves within their home county they must notify the state the day of the move or prior to it. The investigation revealed that Mr. Jordan had failed to do either.

Mr. Jordan was taken into custody at his residence at 1605 1/2 Olive St. in Murray and lodged in the Calloway County Jail and charged with Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration. Detective Boyd was assisted by Detective Sam Steger U/400
