KSP Commissioner Miller Honors 3

(HICKORY, KY.) On 4-6-05 Kentucky State Police honored United States Army Sergeant Robbie Doughty during a ceremony at the state police post in Hickory. Kentucky State Police Commissioner Mark Miller presented Sergeant Doughty with an Honorary Kentucky State Trooper award. After serving his Country in the United States Army, Doughty wanted to become a Kentucky State Police Trooper and serve the Commonwealth of Kentucky. A roadside bomb injured Sergeant Doughty, a 12-year veteran of the army, on July 8th 2004 while serving in the war on terror in Iraq.
Also honored during the ceremony were Trooper Jerry Jones and Administrative Secretary Cathy Meade.
Commissioner Miller presented Trooper Jones with the 2004 Trooper of the Year award. Trooper Jones is a 10-year veteran of the state police and two-time winner of the award. Trooper Jones is assigned to patrol Graves County.
Commissioner Miller presented the 2004 Civilian of the Year award to Cathy Meade. Mrs. Meade is a 6-year employee of the state police and is currently assigned to post as the administrative secretary. Meade was named Dispatcher of the year in 2001.
Trooper Jones and Cathy Meade were elected as Trooper and Civilian of the Year by their peers at post one. Trooper Jones will represent post one during Police Memorial Week as the agency selects the statewide Trooper of the Year recipient.
