KSP Investigating A Shooting in Adair County, KY

(Columbia, KY) - One Adair County man is in jail, and another is in a Lexington Hospital after a shooting on KY Hwy 768, approximately six miles south of Columbia.

Kentucky State Troopers and Adair County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the residence shortly after 4:00 P.M., after receiving a report of a shooting.

Following an investigation, Fifty-seven year-old, Odell Tabor was arrested and charged with Assault 1st Degree, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Tampering with physical evidence. Tabor was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.

The victim, fifty year-old, Donnie Wheeler was shot once with a handgun, while inside Tabor's residence. Wheeler was taken to Westlake Hospital by private vehicle and later transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital.

The investigation is continuing by Trooper Toby Young.
