News Release

3 Arrested On Drug Charges In Laurel County

Date of News Release: 04/05/2005

(London, KY) - On Friday, April 1, 2005 at approximately11: 30 p.m. Kentucky State Police in London attempted to execute an indictment warrant at a residence on Highway 578 in East Bernstadt, KY.

When arriving at the residence State Police located Freda Smith (30) East Bernstadt, KY and two (2) indictment warrants was executed. While at the residence several components used to manufacture methamphetamine was discovered and, Freda Smith was also charged with conspiracy to traffic in a controlled substance, manufacturing methamphetamine and, possession of a controlled substance.

Also charged at the residence was Randall B. Murry (43) East Bernstadt, KY with conspiracy to traffic controlled substance, manufacturing methamphetamine and, possession of a controlled substance. Billy Keith Thompson (51) Manchester, KY was also charged with conspiracy to traffic in a controlled substance, manufacturing methamphetamine and, possession of a controlled substance.

Trooper Fred Pennington is the case officer. Also assisting was Trooper Mike Bowling, and Sgt. Jack Riley and, Sgt. Steve Walker.

All three was lodged in the laurel county detention center with the investigation continuing by Trooper Pennington.
