News Release

Burglary Arrest In Laurel County

Date of News Release: 03/10/2005

(LONDON, KY) - On Thursday, March 10, 2005 at approximately 3:20 a.m. Kentucky State Police received a complaint of a burglary in progress at a residence on KY 490 approximately 11 miles north of London. Trooper Jason McCowan arrived at the scene and, observed two (2) male subjects fleeing from the residence.

One was apprehended and, identified as James R. McCowan age 39 east - Bernstadt, KY. James McCowan was charged with burglary 1st. Kentucky State Police K-9 was called to the scene in an attempt to locate the other male subject but the search was unsuccessful.

James McCowan was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center with the investigation continuing by trooper Jason McCowan.

Assisting at the scene was Troopers Lafe Owens, Fred Pennington and, Sgt. Steve Walker.
