Pursuit in Clay County, KY

Date of News Release: 02/25/2005

(London, KY) - On Thursday, February 24, 2005 Kentucky State Police Trooper Nick Metcalf attempted to stop a vehicle for erratic driving on KY 80 approximately 2 miles west of Manchester. The operator of the vehicle refused to stop for emergency equipment and, turned onto Morning Glory Road traveling a short distance and, then turned onto a side road traveling a very short distance with the road becoming impassible. The driver exited the vehicle with a small child and, fled on foot. A search was initiated and, the driver was located.

The driver of the vehicle was Crystal Henson, age 19 of Manchester. Crystal Henson was charged with fleeing and evading, DUI 2nd Offense, DUI Suspended License, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, Criminal Mischief and, giving officer false name and information.

The cases remain open pending further investigation by Trooper Nick Metcalf.
