Death Investigation in Clay County, KY

(LONDON, KY) - On 01-18-2005 Kentucky State Police at the London Post was contacted by the Clay County Detention Center to investigate the death of one of the inmates.

After a detailed investigation by Detective John Yates it was discovered that Martin Tillman, age 47 of Onedia, KY, was lodged in the Clay County Detention Center on drug charges by the Manchester Police Department. Mr. Tillman was booked into the detention center at approximately 0600hrs and, was discovered having problems breathing at approximately 0617hrs by the staff at the Detention Center.

Mr. Tilman was transported to the Manchester Memorial Hospital where Coroner Jim Trosper pronounced him dead.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday 19th in Frankfort by the State Medical Examiners Office.
