Escapees from the Hickman County Detention Center Captured and Arrested

Date of News Release: 8/31/2004

(CLINTON, KY.) At approximately 1910 hours Thomas C. Lane and Mark A. Bates were taken into custody at a residence on Clarks River Road in Paducah. The two subjects had escaped from the Hickman County Detention Center on August 29, 2004. The Paducah Police Department received a tip of a possible location on the fugitives. The Paducah Police Department then requested assistance from the Kentucky State Police to assist in the apprehension of the fugitives. Paducah Police Department along with the Kentucky State Police and the McCracken County Sheriffs Department responded to the residence and took the subjects into custody without incident. After their arrest, the escapees were then relayed to the Hickman County Sheriff J.W. Moran and the Hickman County Jailer Robert Tarver. The two men were then lodged in the Hickman County Detention Center on escape charges. The investigation is continuing by Kentucky State Police Detective George Bell and Trooper Michael Cook.
