KSP serve a warrant and make an arrest in Kuttawa, KY

(Kuttawa, KY.) On Monday 6-21-04 at 10:08 P.M. Trooper Bobby Murray responded to a trespassing complaint on KY. 810 North in Kuttawa. The Lyon County Sheriff's Department had already responded earlier in the evening and was looking for Michael R. Hubbard, 39, of Covington, TN. Hubbard was allegedly intoxicated, trespassing and officers also had an active warrant for his arrest. Upon Trooper Murray's arrival, he was informed Hubbard had left the scene and was armed with a handgun. While Trooper Murray was speaking with witnesses, Hubbard returned to the scene and became confrontational and belligerent with the trooper. When Trooper Murray attempted to arrest Hubbard, he resisted and was sprayed with OC spray. Hubbard continued to resist and Trooper Murray was able to get one handcuff on Hubbard. A neighbor began to assist the trooper and the two got the other cuff on Hubbard. Hubbard was transported by Lyon County Ambulance to the Caldwell County Hospital and treated to lacerations to the scalp. Trooper Murray was also treated at the Caldwell County Hospital for scratches, abrasions and a bite mark to the forearm. Hubbard was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail charged with Resisting Arrest, Terroristic Threatening, Assualt 3rd Degree, Wanton Endangerment 1st, DUI 2nd, Operating on DUI Suspended License, Failure to Wear Seat Belt, no Insurance, and Open Alcohol Container. The warrant for Alcohol Intoxication was also served on Hubbard.
