Body found near the Kentucky Dam Marina

(GILBERTSVILLE, KY.) Today at 6:17 A.M., Kentucky State Police 911 Center received a call from a fisherman on Kentucky Lake advising he had found a body floating near the Kentucky Dam Marina. The body was pulled from the water and was found with a gunshot wound to the head. The man identified as Russell E. Harper, 42 of Shelbyville, IL. was last seen at a friends residence in Wisconsin on Tuesday and failed to report for work on Wednesday. An autopsy is being performed in Madisonville this afternoon. The Marshall County Coroner's Office, Marshall County Rescue Squad, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Kentucky Park Rangers assisted Kentucky State Police at the scene. The investigation is continuing by Detective Steve Bryan.
