Paducah man found dead in Lyon County

(Lyon County, KY.) At approximately 1 pm on April 14 2004, Kentucky State Police Received information from the Lyon County Sheriff, which had been contacted by Illinois authorities. Illinois advised they had received a call from a subject that had been in rural Lyon County in the Land Between The Lakes area on 04/13/04 picking mushrooms. This subject advised he had located a possible dead body in The Land Between The Lakes area. This subject then called his local authorities on the morning of April 14. Kentucky State Police with the assistance of the Lyon County Sheriff, located the body of Vernon L Dunn 48 of Paducah KY and his vehicle. Mr. Dunn was reported missing on April 7th by his family in Illinois. An Autopsy was performed today in Madisonville. No foul play is expected, and no obvious signs of trauma were discovered. The results of the autopsy are pending, and the investigation is continuing by Detective Steve Bryan.
