Follow Up on Fire and Death Investigation in Boyd County

(Ashland, Kentucky) - Kentucky State Police in Ashland is still investigating the murder / arson investigation reference to the 5-24-04 fire at the Phillip and Shondra Booth residence on 10th Street in Catlettsburg , Ky. Phillip Booth age 32 has been positively identified as the male victim in the fire; however, the other subject has not been identifed yet. Boyd County Coroner Keith Moore has sent X-rays of Shondra Booth to the state medical examiner's office for comparison to the victim of the fire.

Preliminary cause of death for Philip Booth is multiple stab wounds and gunshot wounds. The preliminary cause of death for the other fire victim is multiple stab wounds.

** Detective Rob Garnes is the lead investigator in the cases.

UPDATE: *** A follow up to the original press release refrence to the house fire in Boyd County**

Autopsy reports have positively identified the second fire victim as to Shondra Booth age 26 who was the wife to the male victim Phillip Booth.
