(London, KY) - On Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at approximately 7:11 p.m. the Kentucky State Police in London received a regional broadcast issued by the Cleveland, Tennessee Police Department reporting that two males were overheard before they boarded a Greyhound Bus stating they were going to blow the bus up. The bus was reported to be traveling northbound on I-75.
At approximately 9:28 p.m. the bus was located and stopped by Kentucky State Police and Rockcastle County Sheriff Department on I-75 near Mt. Vernon in Rockcastle County. After stopping the bus all the passengers were removed to a safe location while the bus was removed to another location for further examination by Trooper Tony Perkins with Special Operations and his K-9 Rojo. Examination of the bus did not locate any explosive device at which time the passengers were allowed to return to the bus and continue on the trip.
One passenger on the bus was arrested Angel Delacerta age 19 after a check through NCIC determined that he was wanted by the Du Page County Sheriff Department in Wheaton, Illinois.
